Counselling

Richard Rohr

If we don't transform our pain,
we will most assuredly transmit it
usually to those closest to us.

I am on leave effective May 1, 2026.
I hope to return to practice in late 2027 or in 2028.

My Approach

Overwhelmed? Stuck in a painful pattern - emotional, physical, or relational - and feel powerless to change?

I help people transform their lives and relationships, moving from a state of survival into calm, clarity, and courage.

Leveraging the brain-body connection and understanding the impact of trauma are foundations of my counselling approach.

I'll guide you to:

  • witness your emotions.

  • listen to your body.

  • understand your nervous system.

  • explore the parts of yourself that have been blocking change.

Start creating your life, not just surviving it!

About Me

I have more than 15 years of experience working with vulnerable people in child protection, in hospital emergency rooms, as an advocate for children and families receiving government services, and as a school counsellor specializing in trauma. I hold Bachelor's and Master's degrees in social work.

My life story echoes many of the experiences clients bring into counselling . . .

The theories and tools I use have supported my recovery from early childhood trauma that manifested in anxiety, depression, eating disorders, attention deficit disorder and decades of chronic fatigue (beginning with 2 years in bed as a teenager).

I became a single mom in my 2nd year of university. Now, I've been married for over 20 years and we've raised our two kids into adulthood.

My healing began when I read the book The Body Keeps The Score and shifted the focus of my Masters research to the neurobiology of trauma. The learning and transformation continues; In my forties, I'm enjoying peace that was elusive for much of my life!

About Me
Parenting Coodination

Parenting Coordination

I'm recognized as a Parenting Coordinator under The Children's Law Regulations, 2021.

A Parenting Coordinator is a child-focused third party who helps you navigate change and decisions as you create a new family structure, with your children living in 2 households and adult relationships focused on successful co-parenting.

The Parenting Coordinator helps separated parents

  • understand and communicate respectfully about the needs of your children and how to meet them;

  • understand and implement the terms of your court order, family arbitration award, or separation agreement that relate to the children; and

  • reach agreement on minor parenting issues not addressed in the court documents.
